From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A small group of pacifists ended 12 1/2 years of silent Sabbath prayers outside the Rocky Flats nuclear weapons plant in Golden and quietly celebrated the government’s decision to stop building bomb components there. “I look at it as a phase we have ended,” said Sister Pat McCormick, a nun and a longtime vigil participant. “It does not eliminate our grave concern about the cleanup and the (radioactive) waste and the terrible impact on the ecology.” The plant built plutonium “triggers” for nuclear weapons. In January, the Bush Administration announced its intention to stop producing the detonator triggers at the plant.
