Tekelec Wins Contract Worth Up to $2.1 Million

Tekelec in Calabasas said it was awarded a contract valued at up to $2.1 million to provide a switching product to Allnet Communication Services Inc., a Birmingham, Mich.-based provider of long-distance telecommunications services.

Tekelec mainly makes equipment used for testing and measuring telecommunications systems, and the switching system sold to Allnet is a new product for Tekelec. The company has formed a new unit, Tekelec Network Products Group, to develop and market the equipment.
