From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Crews at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida began reloading fuel onto the space shuttle Atlantis after fuel leaks delayed the flight. NASA said it had fixed the problem and rescheduled liftoff for 5 a.m. PST today. Launch director Bob Sieck said the problem was in Teflon seals, not the fuel lines. The seven astronauts had not yet boarded when seepage was detected in the engine compartment during the first fueling and the launch was scrubbed. The flight will be part of the Mission to Planet Earth study of the environment from space.
