Aiding the Cause: The AIDS education program of Hollywood Supports received a $1-million commitment from the Permanent Charities Committee of the Entertainment Industry on Thursday, to be paid $100,000 annually over the next decade. The money will be used to accelerate the AIDS education programs of Hollywood Supports, said Richard Jennings, executive director. The organization, founded last year by entertainment industry figures, works to counter AIDS ignorance and discrimination. PCC President Lisa Paulsen said Thursday that the battle against AIDS has become one of the highest priorities of PCC contributors.
