Proposition 13

Well, just think, California property owners, it only took 14 years for Prop. 13 to come before the Supreme Court. Is there nothing that the voters vote on and put into law that will stay?
We have been paying on our mortgage for the past 20 years. I am sorry about these cry babies who complain about their neighbors living in the same type house who pay a tax based on their purchase price of 20 years ago. Income was two-thirds less, too. We are close to retirement and this house is our nest egg.
Should the Supreme Court decide that property owners are to be billed for so-called “back taxes” that would more than create a hardship on property owners. If the Supreme Court finds Prop. 13 unconstitutional, you will surely find more flight from California.
We are small business owners and the laws of this state are driving us out of business. Now they will drive us out of our homes. What’s left?
