Kiss the Rain Goodby--at Least for the Weekend

The spring storm that spilled nearly an inch of rain Friday will leave puffy white clouds in its wake during the day and heavy fog in the late night and early morning this weekend, but no rain, forecasters said.
A weak storm will pass through San Diego on Monday that might bring some rain, said Frank O’Leary, a forecaster for the National Weather Service in San Diego.
He forecast partly cloudy skies until Wednesday, when warm, sunny weather is expected to return to San Diego.
The storm that moved through San Diego County on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning dropped a half inch of rain in downtown San Diego. Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, south of Julian, got the most rain in the county, with 1.05 inches.
On the average, the 31 weather observation stations in the county that report to the National Weather Service reported six-tenths of an inch of rain from the storm, O’Leary said.
The slight chance of rain Monday is due to a storm that is developing just north of Hawaii, but forecasters believe it will take a northerly route, missing San Diego. The storm track usually shifts north during this time of year, O’Leary said.
In the inland and coastal areas, highs this weekend will remain in the upper 60s today, and peak at 70 degrees Sunday, O’Leary said. Lows will be in the 50s in both areas, he said.
The deserts will have a high of 73 today and Sunday, and lows in the upper 40s, according to the forecast.
The mountains are expected to have highs of 53 and lows in the 30s this weekend.
