From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A state hearing judge suspended the medical license of a doctor who allegedly raped two women and molested 15 others during examinations at his La Jolla and Encinitas offices. Authorities arrested Dr. Dominick A. Ricci in February on suspicion of raping two women by digital penetration during office examinations in October and February. Since then, 15 more women have come forward and alleged that they also were molested during examinations between March, 1990, and February, 1992. Administrative Law Judge Stephen E. Hjelt found that allowing Ricci to continue to practice medicine would endanger the public’s health, safety and welfare.

Joan M. Danielsen, Ricci’s attorney, had no comment on the ruling.
