Play It Again, NFL? The Story Continues

Share

As a longtime fan of Jim Murray, I must say that his stand on instant replay leaves me cold. If pro football players were playing only for a pitcher of beer after the game, they wouldn’t need officiating at all. They could make their own calls.

Last season, instant replay clearly showed mistakes made by officials on the field. Since there is more than a pitcher of beer at stake, why not use a readily available tool to settle close calls?

In the good old days, where Jim’s roots are, nobody in the stands was in position to question an official’s call. For all the fans knew, the officials never made a mistake, but TV changed that.

Jim, sorry, you’re wrong on this one.
