Turmoil in Yugoslavia

The article on L.A. Serbs begs response because of these distortions:
1) “The big lie” about “hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Jews, and Gypsies” killed by Croatians in WW II. Even studies by Serb scholars recently list deaths in Croatia as being about equal in that war 50 years ago.
2) That the Bush Administration clearly stated its “status quo” and “Yugoslav unity” policy last June was actually anti-Croatian independence and gave Belgrade the green light to proceed with its aggression.
3) The reporter transposes events in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Just as they did in Croatia last year, the local ethnic Serbs (and imported thugs) first attempted to disrupt democratic balloting with armed barricades.
