Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Deformed Baby Has Life Support Cut

An infant who was born without a fully formed brain was taken off a life-support system, a hospital spokesman said. A court ruling in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., last week blocked the infant’s family from having her declared brain dead so her organs could be donated to other children. The family’s attorney told the Miami Herald that the baby, named Theresa Ann Pearson, was not expected to survive the night or, at the latest, die sometime today.
