Video Rental Chart : ‘Boyz’s’ ‘Hood Is the Top Spot

In just two weeks, “Boyz N the Hood” has become the sole occupant of an ultra-exclusive neighborhood--the top spot of the Billboard magazine rental chart. “Boyz” bounced “Thelma & Louise,” which slipped to second after a long run at No. 1.

* The best supporting actress Oscar won by Mercedes Ruehl for this oddball romantic comedy-drama, featuring Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges, should boost rental revenues. But this movie was already a cinch to crack the Top Five.
