OCEANSIDE : Hospital to Pay Fine for Toxic Leak
Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside has agreed to pay a $15,000 fine to settle a complaint filed by the federal Environmental Protection Agency, authorities said Wednesday.
The complaint last December charged the hospital with leaking a small amount of fluid containing toxic PCBs from an electrical transformer in the medical center, EPA authorities said. The transformer was not properly marked or registered with the Fire Department, according to the EPA.
