LA PUENTE : $10,000 Reward Offered in 3 Gang Killings

A $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the gang-related shooting deaths of a 60-year-old church worker and two teen-agers was offered Wednesday by the La Puente City Council.

Mayor Charles Storing said police have no suspects in the shooting last Friday of June Guin, a longtime La Puente resident who was planning to move before a stray bullet tore into her home, and 17-year-old Jesus Calletano Rios, a passenger in a car caught in the gunfire.

Also unsolved is the Feb. 8 shooting of Yahrou Proctor, 18, a high school senior killed at a taco stand in front of about 50 witnesses. “We thought just maybe if we offered a reward we might be able to break the code of silence that the gang members observe,” Storing said.
