Share

The Orange Political Action Committee will host a forum at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Main Library for two candidates the group is backing on the June 2 ballot.

Donna L. Crandall, deputy district attorney and resident of Santa Ana, is a candidate for judge for Central Orange County Municipal Court, seat 9. The nonpartisan office represents constituents in Santa Ana, Orange, Tustin, Villa Park and nearby county islands.

The three other candidates for the seat--Michael J. Pear, a deputy district attorney; John F. Anderson, a private attorney, and Salvador Sarmiento, also an attorney--were not invited to attend the event. Judge Jacquelyn D. Thomason, who holds the office, is retiring.

The other candidate at the forum will be Charles R. Wall, who is opposing Assemblyman Mickey Conroy in the Republican primary to represent the 71st Assembly District. Wall, who lives in Trabuco Canyon, is a 13-year member of the Trabuco Canyon Water District and is chairman of the Santiago Aqueduct Commission.

The two candidates will address the audience and answer questions. The Main Library is at 101 N. Center St.
