LANCASTER : 3 Men Face Trial on Sex Charges
Three former Antelope Valley College football players have been ordered to stand trial on charges that they had sex with a 14-year-old girl at a party in Lancaster in October.
David Brown, 20, Bradley Cole Jr., 21, and Gene Washington, 23, all of Lancaster, have each been charged with one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Municipal Court Judge Ian Grant on Thursday denied defense motions to dismiss the charges.
A hearing to set the trial date was scheduled for April 15 in Antelope Superior Court.
The men were ordered to stand trial Thursday after the girl, now 15, testified at a preliminary hearing. She said she consumed a large amount of beer prior to the party, which started the night of Oct. 4, and remembers little of what happened.
