AIDS and ‘Beauty’

Share

I believe I’m going to be ill. Aren’t there enough issues for Rather to spend his time being politically correct on? Is it really necessary for him to take a simple animated love story and create nonexistent meanings?

Certainly the AIDS problem is important enough to merit being shown in films and TV shows with as much exposure as “Beauty” has gotten. But is Rather’s ego in such trouble that he needs to create things that don’t exist in order to make it seem as though he has some superior insight?

His comments are not unlike the story of “Beauty and the Beast”--a fairy tale.
