International Remote Imaging Systems Inc., a Chatsworth maker of urinalysis machines, reported a $106,698 profit for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, in contrast with a year-earlier loss of $142,017. The turnaround came on a 39% jump in revenue to $1.52 million from $1.1 million.

In all of 1991, International Remote earned $172,171, while revenue rose 33% to $5.56 million. In 1990, it lost $462,135 on $4.17 million in revenue.

The company said its improved performance was largely due to increased sales, including sales of a new urinalysis workstation and more efficient manufacturing and field service.
