Gen. Powell Visits Kohl

Gen. Colin L. Powell, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, met Chancellor Helmut Kohl on Monday to discuss defense polices in the new Europe. As part of the post-Communist defense structure in Europe, a strong American military presence in Germany is imperative, Kohl told Powell.
