A Waynesboro, Ga., man paralyzed in an automobile accident involving golfer Sam Snead has filed a lawsuit seeking unspecified damages from the three-time Masters champion. Snead, 79, was driving to the 1992 Masters golf tournament, where he was to serve as an honorary starter, when he ran a stop sign and struck Roy Jeffers’ car, according to police.
“I knew it was coming,” Snead told the Augusta Chronicle. “I hope he gets all right. I’ve called several times to check on him, and I understand he’s not doing well.”
