Azusa Pacific’s Davidson Ezinwa Runs 100 in 9.91, Year’s Best Time

Share

Davidson Ezinwa, a junior at Azusa Pacific, ran 100 meters in 9.91 seconds Saturday, far and away the fastest time in the world this year.

The time also ties the Nigerian with Dennis Mitchell for third on the all-time world list, behind Carl Lewis’ 9.86 and Leroy Burrell’s 9.88.

Ezinwa, whose previous best was 10.5, ran into a stiff head wind in a meet at Azusa Pacific. Ezinwa is scheduled to run the 200 at the Mt. SAC relays on Saturday; he has run 20.29 at that distance.

Ezinwa’s twin brother, Osmond, will run the 100 at the meet. His best time is 10.09.
