Presidential Candidates

It is truly amazing to note how little emphasis we are getting from the media with respect to the principal reasons for voter unhappiness in this election. The question we voters have been asking every presidential election year for decades is, “Where do these clowns come from?”

I’ve voted in every election since reaching voting age in 1961 and have yet to enjoy the privilege of voting for someone I thought was really qualified to be President, either by virtue of intelligence or non-connection with scandal. When you look at the roster of presidential candidates for the last 20 years it reads like the “who’s who of political weirdos and lightweights.” We ought to be ashamed--America deserves better leadership.

What we need is a system where candidates don’t nominate themselves to run for office. We are tired of waiting every four years to see which of our many egomaniac politicians will decide to engage in the ultimate self-indulgence and “run” for President. I’m for a return to the days when political parties decided who was going to run. That might leave the door open for evil in some states but it’s better than having an idiot for a President.
