Read His Lips: The Boston man who accused New Kids on the Block of lip-syncing has changed his tune. Greg McPherson, who teaches music at the University of Massachusetts-Boston, has dropped his $21-million suit against the group’s manager, Maurice Starr. “The allegations I made regarding New Kids on the Block lip-syncing were untrue,” McPherson said in a statement. “They did sing lead on their vocals.” In his original suit, McPherson said he had worked on New Kids record productions but that Starr didn’t pay him fees and royalties as promised; he alleged that Starr and his brother, Michael Jonzun, had actually sung the lead vocals. Starr hinted that an undisclosed amount of money was involved in reaching an out-of-court resolution. “Any settlement reached between McPherson and Starr does not involve the New Kids on the Block,” a spokesman for the group said Wednesday.
