Abortion Controversy

Share

Quinn’s perspective on abortion began with her regret over encouraging an 8-month pregnant friend to abort in 1963. Then after some hand-wringing over the “polarization” of both pro-life and pro-choice sides, she devotes two columns to attacking the pro-life position and near the end states: “I have difficulty with the concept of aborting a 9-month-old fetus.” Is that the best she can do? Apparently after 30 years and millions of legal abortions in this country, she has not moved one iota away from the extreme pro-abortion position which supports late-term abortions, abortion for sex selection or any other reason, no parental consent for minors, and taxpayers should fund all of the above.

I consider myself a rational, pro-life person, who is not rigid in my views, albeit dedicated, but I see absolutely no movement to a middle ground in Quinn’s commentary.
