A judge Wednesday ordered a mother, her 22-year-old son and her boyfriend to stand trial on charges that they murdered two men in Guatay in 1990.

The three are charged in the slayings of Dallas Underwood, 25, and Alan Ross, 31, whose bodies were found dumped in a ravine off Lyons Valley Road in East County.

The defendants are Xenia Anglin-King, 45; her son, Derek Jason McGee, and her companion, Alan Dale Mummert, 45. The were all arrested in January.

Witnesses testified in the preliminary hearing that the victims were believed to have stolen some property belonging to the defendants when they all lived in the rural Guatay area. One witness said the items taken included tools and vehicles, which were then reportedly sold to buy drugs.

The doctor who performed the autopsies said Ross was stabbed 16 times and struck with a tire chain. Underwood was stabbed five times and hit with a blunt object.

The three remain in custody in lieu of $1 million each and will next appear in court April 28 for a trial date.
