QUIET DOWN: When county officials recently rejected a request for a marijuana legalization festival in Mile Square Regional Park, they discovered their written authority in such matters was a little thin. So this week the supervisors beefed up regulations to give staff members greater latitude for rejecting large gatherings at local beaches and parks. . . . The county has been inundated with complaints about loud parties. “It’s not our intent to freeze people out; we just want to maintain some order,” says parks director Robert Fisher.
