Campaign Calendar : Events of the Coming Week

Monday: Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson (D-Los Angeles), a candidate in the 24th Congressional District, will address the Conejo Valley Democratic Club at 7:30 p.m. at Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road. The 24th Congressional District encompasses Thousand Oaks and portions of the San Fernando Valley. The event will include a question-and- answer session. Thursday: Daphne Becker, a Republican candidate in the 23rd Congressional District, will speak at a dinner meeting of the Associated General Contractors of America, at Harry’s Plaza Cafe, 3313 State St. in Santa Barbara. The 23rd Congressional District includes Carpinteria and all of Ventura County except Thousand Oaks. Dinner begins at 7 p.m., with speeches at 8 p.m. The cost is $20 per person. Friday: The Ventura County Federation of Republican Women has scheduled a forum for all Republican candidates for U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, state Senate and Assembly. The event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mandalay Beach Resort Hotel, 2101 Mandalay Beach Road. Tickets for the forum and luncheon are $15. Friday: Assemblyman Jack O’Connell (D-Carpinteria) will hold an open forum with students on the Oxnard College campus from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The discussion will focus on financial aid and other state budget issues and will be held on the lawn by the college’s cafeteria.
