PLATFORM : Another Pot Shot
Laguna Beach has taken another potshot at the foundation of this country, the nuclear family, devaluing the traditional husband-wife relationship.
For a mere $25, the government empowers at least two people to form a “commitment” that gives them some of the benefits of a marriage relationship. Yet the “committed” partners can be changed regularly by simply filling out a new contract.
Moreover, the ordinance would allow a married person, such as NOW’s current president, Patricia Ireland, to also register with her lesbian lover as her “sole domestic partner,” since the ordinance does not require them to live together, thus changing the definition of the family to “husband/wife/lesbian lover” in this instance.
The purpose of this ordinance is government’s endorsement of the homosexual lifestyle, which most people agree is unhealthy and unnatural.
