Pension Wage Limit
Legislation proposed by Congress to answer the Social Security wage limit problem (“House Plan Would Double Social Security Wage Test,” April 9) appears as an unfair, partial solution. It does nothing for the 62-65 age group, a group which must still provide its own medical care and, because of age discrimination in employment, is very hard hit in an economy where jobs are scarce.
And, there is no concern about an increased benefit for those who already have independent wealth and really do not need Social Security at all.
It is, no doubt, a patch to humor a majority of the retired group in an election year.
