PACOIMA : 5 to Be Honored for Community Service
The Pacoima Chamber of Commerce will hold its 25th annual awards and installation banquet honoring individuals who have made a contribution to the Pacoima community.
The banquet will be held tonight at 6:30 at The Odyssey restaurant in Granada Hills. State Sen. David A. Roberti (D-Los Angeles) will present awards to Los Angeles Police Officer Stephany Payne, Los Angeles City Firefighter Shawn L. Dean, and citizens Adlene Bradley, Rafaela Domingues and Jas Dhillon.
The honorees were selected “on the basis of their exemplary service and contribution to the community,” said Leroy Adams, the chamber’s president-elect. “We want to encourage people in the community to really become good neighbors.”
The chamber will begin a “hands-on” approach to improving Pacoima this year through graffiti abatement programs and other events, Adams said.
