1st-Quarter Profits Triple for Foothill Group Inc.

Foothill Group Inc., a financial services concern with executive offices in Agoura Hills and Los Angeles, said its first-quarter profit nearly tripled from a year earlier, to $3.36 million from $1.26 million.
Foothill said the earnings increase in the three months ended March 31 included gains by its Foothill Capital unit, which provides financing to businesses that use their accounts receivable, inventory, equipment or other assets as collateral for the loans.
