Profit Surges for Maker of Entertainment Software

THQ Inc., a Calabasas supplier of video-game software and other toys and games, reported that its profit surged to $1.2 million in the first quarter ended March 31 from $329,000 a year earlier.
Sales totaled $10.7 million, compared to $2.66 million in 1991’s first quarter.
The company attributed its growth to its expanded line of interactive entertainment software, including three new Nintendo titles.
