Glendale : Farmers Market Opening

Share

The farmers market opens today, and city officials are hoping the aroma of newly baked bread, pastries and fresh-ground coffee, coupled with the lure of home-grown fruits and vegetables, will attract more shoppers and tourists to downtown Glendale.

The market, to be held Thursdays at The Exchange on Brand Boulevard between Broadway and Wilson Avenue, will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. under a series of colorful canopies on the east side of the boulevard. Shoppers will be directed to park in the city’s Urban Garage on Maryland Avenue.

About 25 farmers are expected to participate in the market initially, plus there will be booths for foods and flowers sold by merchants within The Exchange.
