Jack W. Payne, president of Bio-Barrier Inc., has been appointed a director of Luther Medical Products Inc., the Tustin maker of catheter devices.

Bio-Barrier, based in Denver, develops medical technology to prevent viruses from infecting surgical gloves and other latex products.

Before joining the company last year, Payne worked for 19 years as vice president of marketing and sales for the Vicra division of Baxter International. He also served as vice president for international operations for the R.P. Scherer Co. in Detroit. He holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from DePauw University and has completed the executive management program at the Colgate Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Luther Medical also announced that Robert W. Ottke has resigned after eight years on the board. Ottke operates his own management consulting firm in Newport Beach.
