Ford, Mazda Plan European Venture

Ford Motor Co. Chairman Harold Poling said Thursday the company is in talks with Mazda Motor Co. over jointly building and distributing a car for Europe.

Poling told reporters the vehicle would be assembled by Ford in Europe, carry the Mazda nameplate and be distributed by Mazda dealerships. He declined to disclose other details about the vehicle or say when it might be introduced.
