Jacob’s Story Is a Moving One

Let me start by saying that I do not have a similar experience to share with the Johnsons to help them better understand and cope with their son’s degenerative disease.

However, your article tugged at the heartstrings of both my husband and myself because we have a son, Jacob, who will be 17 months old in just a few days. My heart breaks for Lauren. I don’t know that I could be as strong if I had to suffer the anticipated loss of my only son. The picture of her with her son, Jacob, captures the love she has for him. It reminds me of how important it is to enjoy each moment of my own son’s life.

I want Lauren to know that I am praying for her, her husband and Jacob as they meet this challenge.

I pray that Jacob suffers little and that Lauren and Marshall have the energy and strength they need each day. I pray for the chance of a miraculous cure, and I pray that they cherish each moment of life they share together as a family.
