Japanese Vehicle Sales Down: Japan’s domestic sales of cars, trucks and buses in April fell 4.8% from a year earlier for the 12th consecutive month in which sales fell short of year-earlier levels, the Japan Automobile Dealers’ Assn. reported. By volume, the April sales fell to 448,128 units from 470,549 units a year earlier. The drop followed year-on-year declines of 6.5% in March, 3.3% in February and 0.9% in January.
