Who says teachers aren’t appreciated?

In Hollywood, they are.

Take the case of Patrick Hasburgh, late of television, now directing his first feature, “Aspen Extreme,” coming this winter to a theater near you from Fall Line Prods. via Buena Vista Pictures, the distribution arm of the Walt Disney Co.

Word from the set is that Hasburgh is boasting that he has Disney Chairman Michael Eisner to thank for giving him his big break into movies. The two are friends stemming from the days when Hasburgh was a noted Aspen ski instructor and Eisner his eager-to-learn student.

Lo, these many years later, Hasburgh has racked up some solid television credentials--as creator of “The A-Team” and writer-director of “21 Jump Street,” among other shows--and Eisner has become one of the industry’s most powerful people.

Hasburgh wrote a semi-autobiographical screenplay based upon his own experiences moving to Aspen and gained the reputation as a “hot skier” and a hit with the snow bunnies (Hasburgh was the youngest ski instructor to be internationally certified by the United Eastern Amateur Ski Assn.) and took his story to pal Eisner, who was in a position to do something about it. Ergo: “Aspen Extreme.”

Bring on the shiny apple.
