Unidentified Man’s Body Found in Santa Ana River
A man’s body was found floating in shallow water in the Santa Ana River on Saturday near the 1st Street bridge in an area used frequently by transients, police said.
The unidentified body, which was found about 1:30 p.m. in about nine inches of water, appeared to be that of a man in his late 30s. He was about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighed 185 pounds. He was clad only in red undershorts. A pile of clothing was found nearby, although it is uncertain whether it belonged to him.
There were no signs of foul play, police said, and the case is under investigation by the Orange County coroner’s office.
