I found it disturbing that in the April 14 article about Ramos, The Times neglected to mention that it is a condition of Ramos’ probation that he either work or go to school. By neglecting to mention this fact, the article appeared to take a slant that implied that Ramos was attempting to run some type of scam by applying to art school. It should come as no surprise that someone from Ramos’ economic background would be forced to seek financial assistance. Instead of attempting to create the impression that Ramos is looking for a handout, he should be complimented on his desire to change his life.
