As Patt Morrison observes (“Beat That Tune,” Guest Bites Town, March 29), a winning song can indeed help promote something, be it a cold cereal or a hot war. And she is correct in nailing the pro-choicers’ song, “She’s Got the Whole World in Her Hands,” as inferior to the other side’s “Onward, Christian Soldiers.”

It makes sense that pro-lifers, who consider unborn lives sacred, might choose to sing a sacred song, a hymn. But why hymns for those who typically scorn the sanctity of unborn life? Wouldn’t rousing secular songs be a better choice?
