9 McDonald’s in Taiwan Reopened Under Tight Security: Nine of 57 McDonald’s outlets reopened under tight security after bombings killed a policeman and injured four other people last week. Closed-circuit cameras and metal detectors were installed and security guards checked customers’ bags, said David Sun, managing director of Taiwan’s McDonald’s. Sun said he expected that the remaining outlets will reopen in a week after security checks. McDonald’s closed all Taiwan outlets Wednesday after two explosions in the men’s rooms of two Taipei outlets on Tuesday and Wednesday. Another bomb exploded Tuesday in a telephone booth across from the McDonald’s in Kaohsiung of southern Taiwan.
