Clothestime Fares Well: Executives of the Clothestime women’s apparel chain are breathing a little easier this week now that the turmoil in Los Angeles has died down.
“Although last week’s looting was disastrous for hundreds of Los Angeles merchants, Clothestime’s overall company sales for the week ended on an upswing,” the Anaheim-based company said in a statement. Sales for the entire chain were up a third over the same week last year.
Looting was reported at a Sunland store and a window was broken at a store in La Puente. But no other damage was reported at the company’s 422 other stores. Most of Clothestime’s stores are in smaller shopping or strip centers, instead of major malls.
