WORLD IN BRIEF : ARGENTINA : Iran Implicated in Embassy Bombing
The U.S. State Department said Iran may have been involved in the bombing of the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires that killed 29 people and wounded 252. “Information has been gathered that indicates Iranian involvement in the attack, but there is not conclusive evidence at this time,” spokeswoman Margaret Tutwiler said in a statement. The Lebanon-based group Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the March 17 attack in the Argentine capital. Iran, which supports the Hezbollah, has denied involvement in the terrorist incident.
