NEW YORK —
A state Supreme Court judge fined a male lawyer $1,000 for belittling a female attorney.
Supreme Court Justice Diane Lebedeff said Lawrence Clark exceeded acceptable behavior when, during a deposition, he remarked to Beth Rex: “I don’t have to talk to you, little lady” and “What do you know, young girl?” and “Be quiet, little girl,” among other comments.
The judge ordered Clark to pay a $500 fine and $500 attorney’s fees.
