GAY PRIDE: The annual Gay and Lesbian Pride Festival in Long Beach continues today with a parade down Ocean Boulevard beginning at noon.

RAIL LINK: Norwalk and the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission are considering extending the Metro Green Line 2.6 miles through the city to link it with the Orange County Commuter Rail Line. Meetings will be held Monday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Norwalk City Hall, 12700 Norwalk Blvd.

MASTER PLAN: Pico Rivera officials will explain their efforts to revise the city’s master plan for development and listen to public comment, Thursday, 7 p.m. at Smith Park auditorium, 6016 S. Rosemead Blvd., Pico Rivera.

BEWARE: The sixth annual Insect Fair sponsored by the Insect Zoo of the Natural History Museum will educate the public on how to get rid of ants, clean out garden debris and basic anti-ant housekeeping tips today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, 301 N. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia.

A CELEBRATION: The fifth annual Carnival begins Saturday in downtown Long Beach with a parade at 10 a.m. and entertainment all weekend. The parade, which begins at 7th Street and Locust Avenue, is free but admission to the entertainment area is $5 a day.
