4 O.C. Firms Rank Among Top 100 in Survey of Nation’s Fastest Growing

Four Orange County companies are among those on Business Week magazine’s 1992 list of the nation’s top 100 for growth among small companies.

Previously unranked State of the Art, an Irvine developer of accounting software, is No. 16, while Quantum Health Resources Corp., an Orange provider of home nursing for the chronically ill, is No. 47.

Rainbow Technologies Inc., an Irvine anti-pirate software developer, fell 10 notches to No. 59 from No. 49 last year. And Bridgford Foods Corp., an Anaheim maker and marketer of frozen food and snack food products, edged up to No. 76 from No. 98 last year.

Battered by the recession, clothing retailers--Quiksilver Inc. (No. 41 in 1991) in Costa Mesa and Wet Seal Inc. (No. 56 in 1991) in Irvine--and GB Foods Co., franchiser of the Green Burrito fast food restaurants, dropped off the weekly magazine’s list this year.

The standings will be published in the May 25 issue of Business Week.
