A purported gang member was charged Tuesday with the riot-related attempted murders of three Los Angeles police officers, including the brother of Dodger player Darryl Strawberry.

Trynon Lee Jefferson, 22, was charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a firearm on a police officer, two counts of robbery, two counts of assault with a firearm on a firefighter and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Los Angeles firefighters were battling a blaze at Vernon and Vermont avenues on April 29 when Johnson allegedly pointed an AK-47 assault rifle at the firefighters, stole a fire captain’s hand-held radio and fired a shot into the front engine area of the fire truck, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Susan Speer.

The next day, Jefferson fired six to eight shots at a patrol car near Manchester and Vermont avenues, she alleged. Two of the three officers in the car, including Michael Strawberry, were wounded.
