WARWICK, N.Y. —
A criminal justice teacher has been charged with helping two inmates escape last week from a medium-security state prison.
Michael T. Petrik, 30, was accused of giving a cutting tool to the inmates, which they allegedly used on May 11 to cut a hole in a chain-link perimeter fence at Mid-Orange Correctional Facility, state police Capt. Michael F. Cahill said.
Petrik was arraigned Monday on felony charges of escape.
