Turner Receives Award as Teacher of the Year
Barbara Phillips Turner, an associate professor of psychology at Pasadena City College, has received the Risser Award honoring the teacher of the year.
The award is based on quality of instruction, inspiration to students, and fair evaluation and grading. The winner received a $1,000 check.
Turner, a faculty member for 13 years, earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Cal State Northridge. She has served on the Pasadena Commission on the Status of Women and has chaired the Affirmative Action Task Force for the city.
