DOUBLE-EDGED AWARD: Irvine lawyer Christopher B. Mears is delighted that his alma mater, Western State University law school, will induct him Sunday into its Hall of Fame for his work on behalf of the homeless. But Mears calls the honor “bittersweet.” . . . “It really underscores the disparity between those of us who have and those of us who don’t,” he says. “I want to bring their plight to the conscience of the community.”
